Another Lembas Equivalent for the Day
Celebration of the Marriage of Heart and Mind
Eduardo Galeano
Why does one write, if not to put one's pieces together? From the moment we enter school or church, education chops us into pieces: it teaches us to divorce soul from body and mind from heart. The fishermen of the Colombian coast must be learned doctors of ethics and morality, for they invented the word sentipensante, feeling-thinking, to define language that speaks the truth.

hi. got here through nat's blog. what you wrote was so beautiful. i love that word. sentipensante. when i was reading this i was suddenly reminded of ma'm ricci guevarra (do you know her?) she was my creative writing teacher back when i was still in UST.
and i guess you are a teacher. where do you teach? i'm sorry if it's in one of your entries... i have yet to read the rest of your entries.
um, i guess that's all. i'm karen, by the way. nat's classmate back in 3lit. thanks.
